Blue Haven Courts
One of the earlier motels in this part of Texas, the Blue Haven Courts were built in 1941 by O.J. Nowlin brother of W.B. Nowlin. Nowlin traveled the country as a salesman and during his trips picked up rocks from each of the then 48 states. Those rocks were incorporated into each of the eight units and the office along with petrified wood and sand stone from just north of De Leon. Parts of the court still stand on Texas 16 just south of town.
