Right: A roadside sign ca. 1920 pointing to De Leon’s New American Cafe three miles away. The sign indicated that the cafe was open “All day” and “All night”. It also noted that the cafe was “just the place to eat and enjoy it.” The location of the cafe is unknown.
Jones Cafe was located on the northeast corner of Texas and Gonzales due north of Smiths. The exterior photo was taken in July 1940.
