Upper Left:  The Desdemona School during the early part of the oil boom.  Upper Right:  Built during the boom, this fine three story school burned in the winter of 1937-38.  The fire is speculated to have been caused by a gas leak.

Lower Left:  Construction started on the replacement school in May 1938.  Its cost was expected to be $45,000.    Pictured is a school reunion in 1994.  Lower Right:  A later photo of the school building.  It is now used as the community center.

The Desdemona ISD was consolidated into the De Leon ISD in 1968.

The school’s mascot was appropriately the Hogs--from Hogtown.  The school colors were green and white.
