DUBLIN

An envelope mailed from Dublin on July 3, 1877.  When the Texas Central Railway was laid through this area, the town of Dublin moved to its present location.  This envelope predates the railroad reaching the Dublin area by about three and a half years.  By comparison, the town lots in De Leon were auctioned on July 7, 1881.

Dublin’s band in the 1938 Peach and Melon Festival parade.  Notice the cowboy on a saddle on the hood of the car.  The parade is turning west on Reynosa heading to the festival grounds at the compress.
