Built around 1911 by Tad Carter for his mother, the house was purchased by Al Strasner around 1964 and remodeled. It still stands at the T of Labadie and Bowie.
Dr. R.D. Redden home ca. 1887
This house was built by T.C. Smith and later owned by the Justice of the Peace Yarbrough, and still later by Alice Carter. It still stands immediately north of the F&M Motor Bank on Texas Avenue. Pictured are Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Streety and their daughter May Whaley.
The Pittman home was constructed around 1915 by banker B.J. Pittman. He sold the house during the oil boom and built a new home on Reynosa. When the boom ended the house reverted back to the Pittmans. Their daughter Phynis Evans lived in the house until her death in 1981.
This home is located at the intersection of Austin and Labadie. It was the home of Dr. Self and later his daughter Effie and husband George Rollins.
