Otho H. Moore (Dec. 9, 1883-Dec. 27, 1959) taught school in the De Leon area for forty-two years including stints at Robinson Springs and as principal at North Ward in De Leon from approximately 1919 through 1925. 

   He was elected to the Texas House of Representatives for two terms from 1943-1947 and served six years as Justice of the Peace in De Leon.

   Mr. Moore lost his left arm in an accident as a youth but never let it hold him back.  He married Vida Hill and had several children including Herschel H. Moore, Maurine Moore Wychopen, Bonnie Moore Singleton, and J.Doss Moore.  He was the uncle of singer  Winston Lee Moore better known as Slim Willet.
