UNITED PENTECOSTAL
Located in the extreme northern part of Comanche County, about eight miles north of De Leon, was the Robinson Springs Community. The Robinson Springs Baptist Church was founded in that community in May 1907. Only two of the charter member families are known: the J.Q. Chatham family and the E.W. Short family. Initially the church was located about 2.5 miles east of it last location in a building constructed about 1914. The church location was moved after the Concord (Docum) Baptist Church consolidated into the Robinson Springs congregation in 1932 (Concord records say 1930). T.H. Williams donated the land for the new location. The church probably reached its peak in 1931 with 127 members.
About 1954 the church began having regular weekly services under Rev. Mc Milliam. At its 50th Anniversary Celebration on May 5, 1957, the church had a membership of about 60. But, by 1965 the membership had declined as the population shifted. On May 2, 1965 the remaining 21 members voted to disband after the Pastor Dan Crawford resigned to go to the seminary. At the time the remaining member families in the church consisted of those of Doris Clark, Herbert Spruill, LG. Barker, T.M. Barker, Jim Koonce, and Ben Koonce. The land was returned to the owner of the property.
