GEORGE EMMETT SMITH

Jan 21, 1930-July 24, 1950


PFC. Emmett Smith was the first casualty from De Leon during the Korean War.  He had been in the U.S. Army for three years serving in the First Division Occupation Forces in Japan when the war broke out.  His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Smith.  He  was 19 at the time of his death.  His uncle Charlie Smith was De Leon’s first casualty in World War I.

No other details are known.
